Commercial Game Sales - FAQ
How do I upload / sell a commercial game?
If you want to sell your commercial game, you just need to set your game type to Commercial Game (to do this, goto Edit Game or do it on submission). Then
- Under "Edit Game" in the Toolbox, goto Commercial Settings -> General Settings. Enter your PayPal address and hit Save Address.
- Goto Commercial Settings -> Pricing. Enter the price you want to sell it for. The site will tell you how this is distributed. Hit Save Settings.
- You now need to upload your commercial game file. This is done in a similar way to the method used to set a normal/demo game file (note that the current uploaded game file will become the demo). Use Edit Game -> General Settings -> Game Files.
- Right click on Your Data -> Open.
- Use the uploader button to upload the commercial game file (and the demo if you have not currently uploaded it; they should be seperate ZIP files).
- Drag the files from the right hand side, into the game directory (left).
- Right-click on the commercial game file and select Commercial File. This will be the game people download after they have purchased the game.
- Right-click on the demo game (if you've uploaded one) and select Game File. This will be the game people download if they haven't purchased the game.
- Once you have done this, go back to the Commerical Settings -> General Settings tab and and submit your game for moderation (we require all games to be evaluated before they can be sold to ensure quality).
How are games moderated?
Moderators and administrators have temporary access to the game's full version to evaluate it while it is in the moderation queue. After the game has been allowed/denied the administrators and moderators can't access the full version anymore (unless they buy it).
Games are moderated to ensure quality for price. There isn't a specific guideline (and it's impossible to make one) for moderators and administrators to use while evaluating games, but you should make sure that you don't overstate the price for a game as it is likely to be rejected.
What happens if my game is rejected?
Moderators will attach a message indicating why the game was rejected. Once you have solved this issue, you can then resubmit your game into the moderation queue.
How much do I get paid?
The pricing page for your game will tell you how much you will get paid based on the price you have specified. You can also calculate how much you earn for a particular price at: http://www.roket-games.com/earnings_calculator/
When do I get paid?
Every Friday between 5 PM and 6 PM AEST, I'll check the current accumulated earnings. If you have accumulated over $30, your earnings will be transferred via PayPal to the address you have specified in the game.
